Eggplant Salad with Mayonnaise

1 medium eggplant
1/2 cup or more mayonnaise
6 garlic cloves
1 medium onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup lemon juice

Burn [char] eggplant on top of the stove. (If you don't have a gas stove, bake in oven until tender.) When skin is charred and the eggplant tender, peel and place in blender with remaining ingredients. Whip until blended. Correct seasoning to taste. Serve as a dip or on crackers.
